Revolutionizing Care for the Most Vulnerable
Neolook is an innovative start-up dedicated to pushing the boundaries of medical technology in the NICU (Neonatal Intensive Care Unit) and PICU (Pediatric Intensive Care Unit). By offering video-augmented services combined with smart sensors and AI-supported analysis, Neolook enhances the quality of care and contributes significantly to reducing the workload in neonatal and pediatric care through automation. This makes a valuable impact on stakeholders such as parents, academics, and healthcare professionals. Parents can stay connected with their newborns from anywhere, fostering bonding and family relationships without limits. Academics are supported in groundbreaking clinical and scientific research, while professionals benefit from a reduced workload.
Neolook is developing various solutions and value propositions with advanced software that enables high-resolution camera imaging and automation of its analysis. PEZY was brought on board to streamline the development of a custom “Neolook One” camera and sensor hardware product. This results in a unique combination of software and hardware that provides high-resolution camera imaging alongside sensor data such as light, sound, and movement. As an integral product development partner, PEZY accelerates the healthcare innovation that Neolook aims to bring to market with this product-service system.

Collaboration with PEZY
PEZY gained deep insights into the product context, as well as the needs, perspectives, and pain points of stakeholders. We applied a Human-Centered Design process, conducting user interviews, observations, and tests to optimize the user experience for all stakeholders. Additionally, we supported medical device regulation (MDR) compliance through our hardware expertise to ensure adherence to strict medical requirements.
The product design focuses on aesthetics, intuitive use, and ease of cleaning. This design distinctively positions the Neolook brand as a well-thought-out tool. We designed the product for universal hospital installation and interchangeable sensor positioning, and we developed intuitive status and error communication, product handling, and positioning. Through iterative prototyping activities, we refined prototypes and created fully functional demonstrators for long-term hospital use. Our expertise in small and large-scale production has been leveraged to plan future development stages. Since March 2024, the partnership with Neolook has intensified, with PEZY taking on greater responsibilities as a venture partner for the project’s future.

This innovative product, which garnered the attention of the Queen of the Netherlands, sets new standards in medical technology and improves care for newborns.
